Questions
How are these dates worked out?
We calculate the Sun, Moon and planets for each day using an astronomy engine and the Lahiri ayanamsa, then apply common panchang rules: auspicious nakshatras, suitable tithis, and no Kharmas, Chaturmas, Adhik Maas or Guru and Shukra asta. They're calculated, not copied from one printed panchang.
Why do these differ from my calendar?
Panchangs follow different traditions and regions, so published lists often differ. Compared with one published 2026 North Indian list, we found 58 of its 59 dates, while 18 of our 76 dates weren't on it. Please treat our list as a guide.
What does the stricter option do?
It also avoids Tuesdays, Holashtak, and the Rikta tithis (Chaturthi, Navami, Chaturdashi), and uses a wider window for Shukra asta. Some families follow these, so fewer dates appear.
Should I still ask a pandit?
Yes. A final muhurat takes the couple's horoscopes, lagna and family customs into account, which this tool doesn't.
