Free ATS Resume Checker
Upload your resume to see how well it's set up for Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). Find missing keywords, fix common errors, and improve your chances of getting shortlisted.
This is ShaadiDekho's estimated resume compatibility score, not an actual score from an employer's ATS. Different ATS platforms use different parsing and screening rules.
How it works
- Upload your resume. Choose a PDF or DOCX file of up to 5 MB.
- Paste the job description (optional). Add it to compare your resume with that job and find missing keywords.
- Click Analyze Resume. We read your resume's text and check it in seconds.
- Review and download. See your estimated score, errors, missing keywords and suggestions, then download the report.
What we check
- Readability: whether the text can be read at all, plus layout problems such as columns, tables, text boxes and images
- Contact details: email, phone number and profile links
- Sections: standard headings such as Work Experience, Education and Skills
- Content quality: length, bullet points, action verbs, measurable results, dates and overused phrases
- Job keyword match: keywords from the job description that are found in or missing from your resume, when you paste one
What is an ATS?
An Applicant Tracking System is software many employers use to collect applications, read resumes into a searchable record and help recruiters filter candidates.
Is this my real ATS score?
No. This is ShaadiDekho's estimated resume compatibility score, not an actual score from an employer's ATS. Different ATS platforms use different parsing and screening rules. There's no universal ATS score, so use ours as a guide to what you can improve.
Is it really free?
Yes. There's no sign-up, no limit on scans and no payment.
Is my resume safe?
Your file is read inside your browser and isn't uploaded or saved on our servers. The report is created on your device too.
Which files can I upload?
PDF and DOCX files up to 5 MB. Older .doc files need saving as DOCX or PDF first. Scanned or photographed resumes can't be read, and the same is true of most screening software.
Why should I paste a job description?
Employers search for skills that matter for the job. With a job description we can show which of its keywords your resume already has and which are missing. Only add keywords that are true for you.
Will a high score get me shortlisted?
No tool can promise that. Recruiters also look at your experience and how well you fit the role, but a clear, relevant resume gives you a better chance.
